Together with our client, we have developed an AI-powered solution to automate supplier audits. It extracts and structures relevant information from various documents, assists auditors with preparation, and automatically generates initial report drafts based on their notes. This reduces manual effort across the entire audit process by 50–70 percent, creating a scalable foundation for more efficient and consistent supplier audits.
Challenge
Supplier audits involve considerable effort across multiple stages, from audit preparation and execution to follow-up activities, report generation, and evaluation. Consolidating, structuring, and preparing all relevant information from various sources for reporting purposes is particularly time-consuming. This results in significant time requirements and additional coordination efforts throughout the audit process.
Approach
Together with our client, we redesigned the audit process and optimized it for AI-driven automation. For audit preparation, OCR and AI-based information extraction were used to systematically extract, summarize, and compare relevant information from documents. Following the audit, an initial draft of the audit report was automatically generated from the auditors' notes and can be efficiently validated and refined through an interactive user interface. The solution was implemented within a scalable cloud infrastructure.
