Personalized Employee Development using Generative AI

Challenge

Digital transformation presents numerous challenges for companies. One way to address these is through tailored and engaging training offerings. Our client, an international pharmaceutical corporation, faced the challenge of introducing a new framework for agile collaboration. To facilitate its introduction and promote its use, an AI-based offering was to be created to help employees more easily adapt to the new concept.

Approach

Using OpenAI GPT-3 services, we developed an interactive chatbot that acts as a personal assistant for questions about the new framework. To expand GPT-3's broad base knowledge to include specific knowledge about the framework, we performed fine-tuning of GPT-3. Relevant information, ranging from eBooks to hand-curated facts, was automatically structured and distilled in a data pipeline. To ensure a user-friendly integration, the model was then connected to a text-to-speech interface via an API. Additionally, a digital avatar was created to visualize spoken language.

Result

The chatbot was rolled out alongside the framework, and thanks to the simple interaction via text or speech, it increased the adaptation rate of the new framework. User numbers show regular interaction, and internally, the perception of personalized training was significantly strengthened.
