Challenge
Our client faced the challenge of implementing an enterprise-wide AI strategy. The company needed a structured approach to systematically identify, prioritize, and execute AI use cases. Without a standardized framework and clear prioritization criteria, there was a risk that promising ideas could be lost in the shuffle, and no tangible results would be achieved.
Approach
To tackle these challenges, we developed and implemented a customized 7-stage Use Case Management Framework. Key components included a quick-scoring system for rapid evaluation of use cases, detailed prioritization metrics, and comprehensive requirements engineering. This structured approach ensured that the most important and promising use cases were quickly identified and executed. Additionally, we aligned the insights gained during the project with various strategic dimensions and derived actionable recommendations to ensure the long-term success of the AI strategy.
Results
With the implemented Use Case Management Framework, the company was able to build a standardized backlog of over 120 AI use cases. Within just six months, 10 prioritized ideas were piloted. Other outcomes included the development of a “Make or Buy” canvas to facilitate the decision-making process between internal development and external sourcing of AI technologies. The actionable recommendations also contributed to the strategic embedding of AI initiatives.
