Trainee Data Engineering (f/m/d)

Our AI Development department serves as a facilitator for Data & AI transformation. We are taking a holistic approach, from the initial evaluation of AI maturity, through the design and development of data and AI solutions, to the practical implementation and scaling of AI solutions. Through our deep expertise in Data Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, we ensure that our clients gain the maximum value from their data. 

• As part of our project teams, you will actively participate in the design and deployment of modern database systems within exciting customer projects 
• You will support the implementation and orchestration of data processes with a special focus on data quality, security, and resilience 
• You will create data pipelines to enable data science and analytics solutions 
• You will help set up and deploy scalable data infrastructures in the cloud 
• You will actively contribute to various formats of internal knowledge exchange 
• You will also support our (senior) consultants in their daily work, for example by helping to prepare customer meetings and presentations

• You have very good programming skills in Python, Bash/Shell as well as SQL 
• Ideally, you have already worked with relational databases & ETL processes and are familiar with modern analytical data architectures (e.g., Data Lakes, Data Lakehouses) 
• Preferably you have already gained experience with distributed systems (e.g. Spark) and in dealing with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• First touch points with orchestration tools like Airflow, Data Factory or Argo would be a plus 
• You are a strong communicator, have at least a good command of English and an advanced knowledge of German, both written and verbally (as well as the willingness to improve your skills further) 
• Furthermore, you stand out through your reliability as well as thorough and structured way of working 

During this one-year trainee program we will prepare you for a subsequent role as a consultant with a focus on data engineering. You will benefit from a tailored development program that includes a variety of basic training courses (for example, project management, and presentation styles) as well as intense mentorship. At the same time, you will utilize and expand your knowledge in real customer projects. We can assure you one thing: you’re learning curve will be steep!
